The Atlantic Ocean has long been associated with providing benefits to our health and wellbeing
People have been visiting Loop Head for therapeutic purposes which date back at least as far as the early 19th century. Apart from the restorative effects of just being on the peninsula – breathing the ozone-rich air, soaking in the unpolluted seawater, striding the windy cliffs and revelling in the unhurried pace of life – there are specific therapies to be found here that offer many health benefits…
In Victorian times, Kilkee was often mentioned as ‘The fashionable bathing place to immerse oneself in the healing waters of the Atlantic’. Indeed the entire Loop Head area was, and still is renowned for its clean air. Both the sea and the sea air have regenerative, restorative effects on the mind and body. When you visit Loop Head, you can reap all the benefits in abundance. So what are you waiting for? Replenish your mind and body by treating yourself to some well-deserved time and space to energise, reflect and renew yourself for the change of season.
